What a weekend !

After a mentally drained weekend, clubgoers almost everywhere were clamoring for Adam Scott's green jacket, but it didn't take me a fortune to soak up the Augusta drama. It's easy to excuse Angel Cabrera (later!) who could win both playoff holes, but the Aussie is a worthy winner and long overdue for first base. The passion with which the extra holes were played spoke volumes for two men as men and golf in general.
The rivalry was much needed after Saturday's events, including a dramatic final 30 minutes of the FA Cup semi-final between Manchester City and Chelsea. However, I was physically empty twice and was very tired after the US Masters on Sunday night, but I slept like a baby last night!

But if drama is what you're after, Griffin Park is the place to be on Saturday as Brentford host Portsmouth, who are desperate for all three points to maintain automatic promotion. Pompey fans were booked up weeks before kick-off, many buying tickets for the home team while others watched the game outside the stadium. They know their club will be in the Fourth Division next season but they are looking for maximum points and points deductions this season, not next, and most importantly for Portsmouth fans to celebrate the end of their one-year contract. . own your club. However, all of this created an atmosphere of exhilaration, exhilaration, unrest and at times fear, and for most of the 90 minutes all four emotions were present at once! Brentford took the lead but Portsmouth scored two stunning goals to take the lead and within ten minutes the Bees' momentum waned but they were soon back on track as Uwe Rosler scored an excellent three goals. Although the hosts went empty-handed after a tough game on Tuesday night, passion, guts and determination found a way and two goals in 90 seconds gave them the lead. It was a wild scene, I don't remember the winning goal at Saturday's GP and people were still freaking out after 4-5 minutes!

Brentford need to recover ahead of a crucial trip to Bramall Lane today to take on promotion rivals Sheffield United.

much luck
