Saturday July 27th.... snippets from today's newsletter
The Second League, one of our major leagues, will begin next Friday, the season of the English Football League.
Tomorrow, next week, we’ll all be very nervous and excited, and everyone will be looking forward to a new campaign, even for some it’s only 90 minutes.
I posted a few updates on the Clubgoi site, including a preview of yesterday's MLS football. Today I sent seven previews to subscribers, four from MLS and two from Brazil, a few words about a friendly this afternoon.
The next few months will go crazy as our three main “summer” leagues - the MLS, Brazil and the J-League - are competing with European football by the end of the year.
Subscription prices have increased from today , if you are discussing joining and find it difficult to leave the offer, please contact me at gowi8@btinternet.com in the next 24 hours and I will tell you how to sign up for the old rates. .
Here are some excerpts from today's post ....
Toronto FC have held just two defeats in 35 games and have been without a win at BMO Field for 374 days, the only home win at Rogers Center last year.
Sporting Casey was without Matt Besler (15-0-1) and the situation got much worse with the interception of central defender Aurelian Colin (19-3-2), the last time SKC started the match without anyone, well, never. Since Colin joined in early 2011, one or the other has always been playing, usually both.
The NYRB Espindola is highly inspired by the Red Bulls to sign former Brentford man Bradley Wright-Phillips this week because the Bees don’t want to sign him forever but have to do well in the MLS and will definitely give him a place in the starting lineup:
In every Chicago Fire competition, ten startups weren’t left empty, MLS got eleven, five got two or more .
Vasco da Gama got his first win against new coach Dorival Jr., winning 3-1 at Fluminense, scoring for Juninho Parnambukano (yes, that Juninho) and helping him make his debut at the club (third).
Good luck.
